Île Saint-Bernard

Ile Saint-Bernard

From 8/18/24, 9:00 AM to 8/18/24, 4:00 PM

Located 30 minutes from Montreal, Saint-Bernard Island offers exceptional natural and heritage treasures! Numerous facilities on the island allow you to eat and relax while admiring Lake St-Louis and the St-Lawrence River. The Marguerite-D'Youville wildlife refuge, the island's true jewel, is an incredible natural territory that offers 8 kilometers of developed trails. The footbridges and docks are a delight for birdwatchers and photographers!

Occupied for thousands of years by first nations, the island was also used by the Grey Nuns for over 200 years. Several historic buildings, a cemetery, and an organic orchard bear witness to their presence on this territory and are accessible to the public.

The Fernand-Seguins Ecological Center, located a few kilometers from the island, offers a 5 kilometer trail in its protected forest, which is home to several distinctive tree species! Wildlife observation is also a popular activity.
